Are You Sure You Are Truly Saving Cash With Cheap Wooden Flooring, Or Is It A Mirage

You've looked around a bit, and decided that your best choice is going to be wooden flooring. Of course, now you have to choose your wooden floors. Of course the cheap wooden flooring is going to catch your eye. That's why it's cheap, because it grabs your attention. Unfortunately, unless you find some truly great wooden flooring sales, which is not necessarily unlikely, lower price will probably mean lower quality. For some, though, a cheap wooden floor is exactly what they need, and paying more makes no sense.

High Foot Traffic Does Not Go Well With Cheap Wooden Flooring

One of the biggest advantages of solid wooden floors is the ability to sand it if it becomes scratched or scuffed, it can be sanded. High quality wood floors can be sanded and refinished multiple times, if needed. This is a great benefit if you have kids and pets. If you can expect high traffic, then cheap wooden flooring may end up looking worn in just a few years. However, if you're single, or maybe just a couple, then you probably won't need to worry about high traffic.

Will You Be Protective Of Your Wooden Flooring?

You can protect your wooden floor if you use floor protectors and rugs in high traffic areas. However, floor protectors sometimes need to be replaced on furniture that is often moved about, such as chairs, and rugs can end up being put away or cleaned, but never laid back down. Does the clutter in your home have to drive you nuts before you clean up? Cheap wooden flooring will not work very well for you, if so, since it doesn't stand up damage like thick, high quality wood floors. No one need know you went cheap when buying your floors, though, if you are a house cleaning fanatic.

Cheap Wooden Flooring Hates Moisture

This one will require some guesswork on your part. No one considers water damage when they purchase their flooring. Unfortunately, though, it happens, and water can find other ways to get to your floors as well. Quality solid wooden floors will at least take some time to warp, but cheap wooden flooring is very quick to warp when subjected to moisture. Engineered wooden flooring is worse than any other. As it's a lot thinner than real wood, warping comes fast and hard. In some cases, the floor can easily warp before you even discover the leak. Newer homes and homes in relatively dry areas don't have as much to worry about, but even in those cases a burst water pipe will reach new levels of suck if cheap wooden flooring is involved.

Swapping Boards Can Fix Anything

Are you installing your wooden flooring yourself? No matter what happens, or how damaged or scuffed your wooden floor becomes, it can always be repaired by simply swapping the affected boards with new ones. If the idea of swapping some boards sounds like a nightmare, than you might want to avoid cheap wooden flooring. If it sounds like a fun weekend project, then you might save a lot of money in the long run by buying cheap wooden flooring.
